Banana (Organic)

These Bananas are greenhouse-grown at Nutrient Farm in Colorado.  They are significantly smaller than your average banana, but very delicious.

Banana is an elongated, edible fruit (botanically a berry) produced by large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa.

• Appearance: Usually curved and elongated, with soft, starchy flesh covered by a peel that turns from green (unripe) to yellow (ripe), or other colors like red in some varieties.
• Structure: Grows in hanging clusters (bunches) on the plant. Individual fruits are called "fingers."

  • Dessert bananas (e.g., Cavendish — the most common yellow variety sold in stores): Sweet when ripe.
  • Cooking bananas (plantains): Starchier and usually cooked when green or ripe.
